Accommodation

There are just 26 rooms and suites, plus a four bedroom villa, decorated in a chic and contemporary style with plenty of natural light and splashes of colour. Rooms are all well appointed with air-conditioning, a king size bed, flat screen TV, BOSE bluetooth speaker system, Nespresso coffee machine and complimentary mini bar. Each of the room categories has a private terrace and is named after a variety of grape - choose between Shiraz Rooms with courtyard or valley views or the spacious Merlot and Cabernet rooms, each with fabulous views of the surrounding valleys. The four Pinotage Suites and two Cap Classique Suites each include their own separate lounge and the Cap Classique Suites also have their own plunge pool. The luxurious four bedroom Manor House Villa is ideally suited to families or large groups, accommodating up to eight adults and six children, with its own kitchen, two pools and a gym.

Restaurants And Bars

The main restaurant, Miko, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a gourmet international menu with a South African flavour, accompanied, of course, by great local wines. The Country Kitchen is more informal, serving lunch and light bites throughout the week, and opening for dinner at the weekend. The kitchen will also prepare a picnic that you can take with you when you’re out exploring the grounds. The cosy bar with its lovely outdoor terrace is the perfect place for a sunset cocktail or glass of wine.

Fiona's View

OUR South Africa SPECIALIST

We absolutely love Mont Rochelle, and it’s not just because of the free-flowing wine! From the serene picture-postcard setting, to the amazing food and the friendly staff, everything here is just perfect.

Mont Rochelle’s vineyards grow grape varieties including Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Shiraz, and there are daily wine tastings in various locations around the hotel and grounds.

The Franschhoek region was first settled by French Huguenots fleeing religious persecution during the 17th Century and the Huguenot Memorial Museum in the town centre is well worth a visit.

Mont Rochelle garners rave reviews on TripAdvisor - the staff are consistently praised for providing a warm welcome and gracious service.

"‘Elegant, refined and understated’ - these are the words that Coral Reef Club’s many repeat guests use to describe this wonderful family-owned hotel."

"The Thursday night barbecue is out of this world and really shouldn’t be missed - the extraordinary culinary experience is followed by a floor show with limbo dancing and fire eating."

"The cottages here are all named after flowers, fruits and trees found in the hotel’s beautiful gardens - Head Gardener, Lloyd Richards, has worked at the hotel for nearly 30 years and his weekly horticultural tours are a real treat."

"Coral Reef Club is incredibly popular so make sure you book early, especially if you’re planning to visit in February."
