Travel Adviser, Abi, received a romantic proposal from her partner Matt in Petit St. Vincent last year. She tells us how it all unfolded…
“The arrival into Petit St. Vincent was lovely as we were picked up by boat at Union Island and sailed to the dock where we were whisked to our room on a Mini Moke. The cottages are all really private as they’re scattered around the island, and there are no TVs or WiFi inside, meaning you can totally switch off and relax.
"We were told to post a red flag outside for privacy and a yellow flag for service which was a lovely touch. What I didn’t know at that point was that Matt had secretly been in touch with Petit St. Vincent’s General Manager Matthew prior to us arriving, and they’d chatted about different proposal options. Matt decided on a private beach barbecue for our second night.
"We went to a lovely part of the beach just before sunset and there were lanterns leading up to a private table just steps from the ocean. We sat down and were served Champagne and canapés – that’s when he popped the question!”
