Café Pacifico proclaimed to be ‘London’s first Mexican Cantina’ is tucked away off the bustling Long Acre; right by Covent Garden tube station. It has a busy and colourful interior and the same applies to the menu. It is bursting with choice, from Char-grilled aubergine & sun blushed tomato enchiladas to tempura seabass and king prawn tacos. They are infamous for their delicious margaritas; which they serve by the pitcher!
La Bodega Negra is located in the heart of Soho, with its sister restaurant in the West Village, New York. The restaurant itself is disguised as a Sex Shop; the exterior of the shop is adorned with neon lights, the restaurant is located down in a hacienda style cellar.
It is a unique response to Mexican food, with experimental mixtures of flavours. Our favourite dishes on the menu are, the beetroot & radish ceviche and the habanero soft shell crab; the whole menu is truly delicious!
Tonteria is a multifaceted Mexican experience, in the early evening it is a tapas lounge, which serves delicious Mexican tapas and cocktails. As the evening draws closer, it turns into a Mexican nightspot, with a DJ and delicious cocktails.
The tapas is inspired by tradition, and references many locations in Mexico. Our favourite picks are the fried Padron peppers, and the ‘Mexican Mudbath’. It is a selection of mini churros, marshmallows and strawberries to dip in the melted chocolate Mudbath!
Crazy Homies is located on Westbourne Park Road. It is home to an extensive list of over 30 types of tequila! The restaurant itself is intimate, with a crazy interior, the walls plastered with day of the dead imagery and bright floral patterns, it really is an homage to Mexico. We particularly like the Yucatan Ceviche which is made from Mahi Mahi marinated in lime juice served on salad leaves and topped off with an exotic fruit salsa!
DF Mexico is a modern Mexican diner; the cuisine is a fusion of Mexican and New York Diner. Quick, relaxed and delicious are the words that come to mind when eating here. It is an informal venue to enjoy and experiment with Mexican cuisine.
We particularly love the ‘Tortas’ a Mexican sandwich served new York style, the chicken and smashed avocado one is particularly good!
Azteca is located on The Kings Road, an intimate Mexican cantina with a lot of charm. With over 120 types of tequila on offer, you will be spoilt for choice! Azteca often acts as a host to live bands, it has a very fun atmosphere which is enhanced by the delicious menu. Our favourite pick from the menu is the beef tacos and the freshly made salsa, which has a real kick to it!
