We know the Maldives has some of the most stunning beaches in the world, with crystal clear waters, spectacular villas in decadent resorts, and year-round sunshine. But for those who want to do a little more than sunbathe and swim, what else can you do when you get there?
Wine tasting under the ocean
Wine tasting is normally reserved for the vineyards of Italy, South Africa and France – but that is far too ordinary. For an extraordinary experience you can now taste some exquisite wines eight metres under the ocean in the middle of Huvafen Fushi island. This unique cellar has over 6,000 wines, including rare vintages and hidden gems.
Expeditions with a marine biologist
With resident marine biologists in many of our resorts in the Maldives, you can really get to know what's living beneath the surface. The marine biologist will point out the different species and talk you through how they are protecting and preserving the ocean life – but don’t panic, this is no dry classroom session, offering a truly hands-on experience.
Diving
We know you can go diving in most of our destinations, but in the Maldives you will have an experience like nowhere else. With the inviting warm water, astonishing clarity and a phenomenal variety of marine life, you will want to stay under the water for hours. Spot species that cannot be found anywhere else in the world, explore the reefs, hidden caves and shipwrecks, and encounter jackfish, lionfish, manta rays, reef sharks and many more.
Be part of the Energy Movement
The Residence Maldives encourages you to take care of your mind, body and soul on your next trip to the Maldives, and join the Energy Movement. Take part in the wide range of body and mind, yoga and meditation activities, or trade the holistic healing for something more intense with personal training sessions in the gym, or the interval boot camp. Whatever you chose to do, you're sure to condition your soul.
Private dinner on a sandbank
Hop on to a traditional sail-powered dhoni to reach your own private sandbank. Just you and a loved one with a crisp, cold wine in hand. Watch the sun sink into the ocean whilst the waves lap against the shore. Eat delicious food prepared especially for you under a sky full of twinkling stars. Sounds idyllic doesn’t it? So what are you waiting for...?
