Mexico is traditionally thought of as a winter sun destination, but there are plenty of reasons why you should travel in the summer – especially for families.
With low season rates, exciting wildlife opportunities, colourful festivals and less people, Mexico is still a great place to travel in the Summer…
Wildlife Encounters
From May to September whale sharks can be found off the coast of Cancún, these gentle giants can grow up to 11ft long and can weigh in at around 40 tons. Swimming alongside these beautiful creatures can make for a memory never to be forgotten.
The summer is also the turtle nesting season, with many of the hotels along the coast starting up turtle conservation programs, protecting the eggs and nurturing the newly hatched turtles until they are strong enough to survive the wild.
Celebrations
Mexico celebrates its independence on September 15 and 16; wherever you are in Mexico streets are lined with decorations in the national colours of red, green and white. Street parties happen everywhere with dancing, music and fireworks to be enjoyed by all.
Special Offers
Compared to some of the peak months like Christmas and Easter, ‘summer is considerably cheaper’. We have collected a few of our favourite hotels that have special savings for your next trip.
