Tobagonians are very proud of their heritage, so it is fitting that they celebrate this year round with the Tobago Heritage Festival that celebrates the very essence of their culture and history.
Created to preserve the unique cultural traditions of Tobago, the Festival has grown from year to year attracting thousands as they celebrate as communities and welcome new guests. Villagers from different communities come out in their glory to perform folk singing, dancing and feasting. Traditional costumes are worn to depict village life from the early 1900’s.
During the entire Festival, returning Tobagonians and visitors alike are able to visit the many quaint and friendly villages to experience their way of life, language and various old traditions. Each village hosts a different event ranging from dancing, ole time mas, limbo and jig stick fighting and of course, an array of culinary delights.
